Stable δ-FA(Cs)PbI3 Intermediate Enables Fabrication of Large-Area Perovskite Solar Modules in Ambient Air

Fabrication of large-area perovskite solar modules under ambient air conditions remains a critical challenge due to air sensitivity of perovskite intermediate phases during crystallization. Here, we introduce 2-iodoimidazole (IIZ) into the perovskite precursor, enabling the formation of an air-stable pure δ-phase intermediate, which, upon annealing, fully transforms into a highly oriented α-phase perovskite film with reduced defects and variability. Leveraging this approach, we achieve a stabilized power conversion efficiency of 20.9% for 927.5 cm2 perovskite solar modules with high reproducibility. The encapsulated modules meet stringent international photovoltaic testing standards (IEC61215:2021), demonstrating excellent stability under continuous operation, thermal cycling (−40 to 85 °C) and damp heat (85 °C and 85% relative humidity).

PANoptosis-Driven Immunogenic Cell Death by a Single NIR Laser-Triggered Nanoplatform for Cancer Phototherapy

Immuno-phototherapy faces a critical bottleneck: achieving high singlet oxygen (1O2) quantum yield and efficient photothermal conversion simultaneously under a single near-infrared (NIR) laser. Here, we report an acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) structured molecule, 3,9-bis(2-methylene-((3-(1,1-dicyanomethylene)-6/7-methyl)-indanone))-5,5,11,11-tetrakis(4-hexylphenyl)-dithieno[2,3-d:2',3'-d']-s-indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b']-dithiophene (m-ITIC), formulated into nanoparticles (NPs) via self-assembly with DSPE-PEG-NH2. The NPs exhibit strong NIR absorption and fluorescence at 688 and 768 nm, respectively. Under single-laser irradiation, they generate heat, superoxide anion (O2•−), and 1O2, with a 1O2 quantum yield of 56.8% and photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE) of 27.4%. This enables NIR fluorescence imaging-guided synergistic photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT). Notably, the nanoplatform induces PANoptosis—a coordinated cell death program integrating pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis—in tumor cells, amplifying immunogenic cell death (ICD). This triggers robust dendritic cell activation, macrophage polarization toward M1 phenotype, elevated CD8+ T cell infiltration, and suppression of immunosuppressive Treg cells, leading to significant tumor growth inhibition and prevention of lung metastasis in vivo. Therapeutic efficacy was validated in patient-derived tumor organoids, underscoring translational potential. This study presents a novel single-laser-activated nanoplatform that simultaneously mediates efficient photothermal and photodynamic effects and induces PANoptosis-driven ICD for synergistic cancer immunotherapy.

Preparation and Oil-Water Separation Performance of PVDF Membranes Co-modified with Dopamine and Polyvinyl Alcohol

The increasing discharge of oily wastewater from oil extraction and anthropogenic activities necessitates the development of efficient oil-water separation technologies to safeguard ecological and environmental safety and ensure sustainable resource utilization. Membrane separation technology, owing to its high efficiency and operational convenience, has emerged as a viable solution for treating oily wastewater. To enhance the hydrophilic and oleophobic properties of hydrophobic separation membranes, this study employed polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) hydrophobic microfiltration membranes with robust mechanical properties as substrates. Through a biomimetic coating approach, dopamine (DA) was first polymerized to form polydopamine (PDA) on the membrane surface, which subsequently reacted with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to construct a dense hydrophilic layer, yielding modified membranes with hydrophilic/oleophobic surface characteristics. The morphology and chemical composition of the modified membranes were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Oil-water separation performance was comprehensively evaluated by measuring water contact angle, underwater oil contact angle, emulsion flux, and oil rejection. Under optimal conditions, the modified membrane M3 exhibited a pure water flux of 4893.2 ± 70.2 L/(m²·h), an emulsion flux of 2138.1 ± 29.4 L/(m²·h) for toluene-in-water emulsion, and an oil rejection of 98.5% ± 0.1%. Simulated fouling and regeneration tests using bovine serum albumin (BSA) solution demonstrated a flux recovery rate of 92.0% for M3, indicating excellent antifouling performance. Immersion tests in acid, alkali, and salt solutions confirmed the modified membrane's outstanding chemical stability. The designed PVDF modified membrane offers advantages of simplicity, environmental friendliness, and high efficiency, showing significant application potential in oil-water separation and providing a novel strategy for membrane development.

Interphasial Li+ flux engineering for uniform lithium deposition toward high-areal-capacity and anode-less lithium metal batteries

Lithium metal anodes face critical barriers to practical application due to dendritic growth and interfacial instability, which cause short cycle life and safety hazards. This work introduces a highly stable and ultrahigh-rate lithium metal anode using a lithiophilic Sm2S3-modified carbonaceous host. The in situ formation of a Li2S-reinforced interphase layer enables highly reversible lithium plating/stripping and uniform deposition. The modified anode achieves an ultrahigh rate capability of 20 mA cm−2 and ultralong cycling stability of 7440 cycles with dendrite-free morphology. In a 4.5 V anode-less Li||LiCoO2 cell with an areal capacity of ~1.93 mA h cm−2, the system sustains over 1100 cycles with 87.2% capacity retention under harsh conditions: an ultralow negative-to-positive capacity ratio (N/P) of ~0.26 and lean electrolyte of ~5 g Ah−1. Furthermore, an anode-less pouch cell with an ultrahigh areal capacity of ~6.01 mA h cm−2 delivers superior cycling performance even at an ultra-low N/P ratio of ~0.71 and ultra-lean electrolyte of ~1 g Ah−1, achieving a high energy density of 505 Wh kg−1. This work provides a scalable and effective strategy for advancing reliable, practical lithium metal batteries.
